Beam driven plasma instabilities in electron beam ion sources
/ Thakur, Chandan (Nehru U.) ; Kumar, Sarvesh (Unlisted, IN) ; Jakhar, Niketan (Nehru U.) ; Kashyap, Sandeep (Amity U. ; Indian Inst. Tech., New Delhi) ; Sharma, Jyotsna (Unlisted, IN) ; Kashyap, Manish K (Nehru U.) ; Pahl, Hannes (CERN) ; Wenander, Fredrik (CERN)
Electron beam ion source (EBIS) is capable of generating highly charged ions by ionizing neutral gas atoms using a high-energy electron beam. The generated ions are confined axially and radially by electric and magnetic fields within the breeding region until they are extracted by lowering the axial potential barrier. [...]

Ferrites with a Minimized Secondary Electron Yield
/ Uren, Robin (U. Dundee) ; Hoffman, Manuel (U. Dundee) ; Din, Amin (U. Dundee) ; Wackerow, Stefan (U. Dundee) ; Neupert, Holger (CERN) ; Pfeiffer, Stephan (CERN) ; Moros, Alice (CERN) ; Barnes, Michael (CERN) ; Favia, Giorgia (CERN) ; Himmerlich, Marcel (CERN) et al.
Ferrites are an essential material in modern industry due to their exceptional magnetic properties and high resistivity. Many applications of ferrites necessitate exposure to high energy electrons, particularly space science and particle accelerators, where charging, multipacting, and electron clouds (ECs) are major issues. Symmetry-Protected Topological Haldane Phase on a Qudit Quantum Processor
/ Edmunds, C.L. (Innsbruck U.) ; Rico, E. (Basque U., Bilbao ; Donostia Intl. Phys. Ctr., San Sebastian ; CERN) ; Arrazola, I. (Madrid, IFT) ; Brennen, G.K. (Macquarie U.) ; Meth, M. (Innsbruck U.) ; Blatt, R. (Innsbruck U. ; Innsbruck U., Quant. Opt. and Info.) ; Ringbauer, M. (Innsbruck U.)
Symmetry-protected topological phases have fundamentally changed our understanding of quantum matter. An archetypal example of such a quantum phase of matter is the Haldane phase, containing the spin-1 Heisenberg chain [...]

To face the higher levels of radiation due to the 10-fold increase in integrated luminosity during the High-Luminosity LHC, the CMS detector will replace the current Calorimeter Endcap (CE) using the High-Granularity Calorimeter (HGCAL) concept. The electromagnetic section as well as the high-radiation regions of the hadronic section of the CE will be equipped with silicon pad sensors, covering a total area of 620 $\rm m^2$. [...]

High throughput data removal system for the ALICE experiment in Run 3
/ Şuiu, Alice-Florenţa (Bucharest, Polytechnic Inst. ; CERN) ; Grigoraş, Costin (CERN) ; Țăpuș, Nicolae (Bucharest, Polytechnic Inst.) ; Betev, Latchezar (CERN)
The ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) experiment at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider is dedicated to studying heavy-ion collisions to investigate the properties of quark–gluon plasma. Since its launch in 2009, ALICE has undergone three operational phases, accumulating substantial data: 7.4 petabytes (PB) in Run 1, 28 PB in Run 2, and 423 PB in Run 3 (as of February 2025). [...]

Future Circular Collider Integrated Programme
/ Benedikt, M (CERN) ; Zimmermann, F (CERN)
The Future Circular Collider (FCC) integrated programme is conceived as a long-term, open, and internationally shared research infrastructure, that combines a high-luminosity electron–positron collider (FCC-ee) with a subsequent energy-frontier proton–proton collider (FCC-hh) in a common 91-km-scale tunnel. Beyond its physics case, the programme is structured around research-infrastructure requirements: staged delivery and risk management across decades, broad user access, and sustainable operations supported by modern digital services. Time resolution of an MCP-based Cherenkov detector with different configurations of CsI photocathode
/ Barnyakov, M (INFN, Bologna) ; Angelucci, M (Frascati) ; Ferrari, F (INFN, Bologna ; U. Bologna (main)) ; Manuzzi, D (INFN, Bologna ; U. Bologna (main)) ; Perazzini, S (INFN, Bologna) ; Spadaro, T (Frascati) ; Vagnoni, V (INFN, Bologna ; CERN)
A prototype of a timing detector based on a magnesium fluoride (MgF$_{2}$) Cherenkovradiator, a cesium iodide (CsI) photocathode, and microchannel plates (MCP) has been developed andtested with particle beams.Besides the conventional semitransparent photocathode directly deposited on the MgF$_{2}$ radiator,we tested photocathodes deposited on the MCP surface and on a metal mesh placed in front of theMCP. The latest two configurations are intended to extend the photocathode lifetime by preventingbombardment of the photoemissive material by feedback ions. [...]

/ Tsiantis, Vasileios (Aristotle U., Thessaloniki) ; Gamba, Davide (CERN) ; Carli, Christian (CERN) ; Sittard, Daniel (CERN) ; Höfle, Wolfgang (CERN) ; Franck Rey, Stephane (CERN)
Stochastic cooling is a technique for reducing the phase space volume of particle beams in accelerators improving the experimental conditions for facilities like Antiproton Decelerator at CERN. We present a stochastic cooling simulation model, for transverse and longitudinal plane. [...]
